  • Jean-Claude Tavernier: Percurama Vol. 1 traits d'orchestre pour percussion et piano (Gérard Billaudot Éditeur)
  • Frédéric Macarez: Snare System, 20 Studies for snare-drum (Vol 2): no. 13 (Alphonse Leduc)
  • Orchestral and chamber music assignments to be announced after the closing date for applications
  • Enquiries regarding the material for the Sammut, Delécluse, Trevino, Tavernier and Macarez works should be addressed to the above mentioned publishers or sheet music shops.

Auditions and application period:

  • The auditions will be held at the Helsinki Music Centre on September 3–4, 2018 from 3.00 p.m. onwards.
  • The deadline for applications is 3.00 p.m. Finnish time on August 3, 2018.

Preliminary video audition:

  • Applicants will be selected for audition on the basis of video recordings. Applications must therefore be accompanied by a video recording of the applicant performing the following two works in this order:
      1. Sammut: Hombre d’août for solo marimba
      2. Delécluse: 12 Études pour Caisse-Claire (12 Studies for Snare Drum): no. 9
  • The video recording must be made with a single camera facing the player so that both the player and the instrument are visible at all times. Post-processing of the sound and/or image is prohibited. The two works can be recorded as separate takes.
  • Maximum sound and visual quality should be aimed at in the recording.
  • The recording must not be sent as a file. Instead, it should be uploaded to a web service (Vimeo or YouTube) where it can be viewed, and it must be accessible without a password. The link should be inserted at the point stated on the application form.
  • Applications that do not include a video link will not be considered.

The job-specific monthly salary is €3.629,61 (with 5-year professional orchestra experience supplement €3.799,62). Also dress and instrument allowance.

Audition invitation and a list of orchestral and chamber music repertoire will be sent by email to selected candidates after the closing date for applications.

The Finnish Radio Symphony Orchestra welcomes applications from candidates of all nationalities.
